There is no single definition of what poetry is. We believe that music (with lyrics) is poetry, presented in a music template. The intermingling of words and melody has historic potency and has been going on for centuries.

The main title of this course is Music is Poetry and this premise will be shown, in this reduced course, by exploring the songs of four singer-songwriters. During the course, we will examine what poetry is and explore the use of poetic devices in poems and songs. These four artists were among the best of the Twentieth Century at writing both songs and lyrics. Make no mistake, there will be lots of music, via audio or video presentation!
