COMEDY APPRECIATION

Comedy Appreciation is a fun look back at the men and women who have made America laugh over the years, mostly from the last half of the 20th century right up until today. We will cover all types of standup comedy, old and new, as well as late night comedy from Steve Allen to Jay Leno, David Letterman and Saturday Night Live. We’ll examine sketch comedy from the 1950s to Carol Burnett as well as Key and Peele and political comedy from multiple perspectives, along with a potpourri of some other entertaining types of comedy. The weekly class format will consist of a brief introduction, followed by a video clip of a comedy performance, and then time for classroom discussion.
